Skipjack tuna is a pelagic fish species that has high economic value and is in great demand on the international market, including in the Philippines. Processed products from skipjack tuna, such as canned fish, dried fish, and other seafood products, are favorites in various Filipino restaurants and markets. For countries producing skipjack tuna, such as Indonesia, exports of skipjack tuna to the Philippines have great potential.
ASPARINDO through its Business Unit PT. Asparindo Maritime Indonesia made its first export of skipjack tuna to the Philippines on November 3 2023 with 25 tonnes. Through this program, Asparindo gives an appeal to Asparindo members in export and domestic fishery producing areas to coordinate with the DPP Secretariat for the trade process through the PT Asparindo Maritime Nusantara Business Unit.
